Day 1 {lunch & dinner}
Leave early morning and proceed to Kibale Forest NP thru Mityana and Fort Portal. We will have an evening forest walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. Located in Magombe Swamp, it is known for a wide range of biodiversity including species of primates such as red colobus, black - and- white colobus, grey cheeked mangabeys, red-tailed, l'hoest, vervet, blue monkey and baboon. Mammals like sitatunga, bush pigs, bush bucks, otters, mongoose and chimpanzees are seen. 138 bird species have so far been identified.
Day 2 {breakfast, lunch & dinner}
After breakfast we will go for Chimpanzee tracking. The density and diversity of primates in Kibale National Park is the highest in the whole of Africa. The most well known of its 13 species are the chimpanzees, our closest relative. Kibale’s 1450 chimpanzee indicate Uganda’s biggest population of this threatened primate. Additionally Kibale is home to the uncommon l’ hoestes, red colobus, blues, red tailed monkeys and grey cheeked mangabeys. 325 bird species have so far been identified. The guide will provide detailed explanations, not only about primates, but also on all the forest flora and fauna and will ensure that our walk is both informative and enjoyable. This walk is excellent for bird watching and for seeing primates at close quarters. After an early lunch we will proceed to Queen Elizabeth NP. In the afternoon we will enjoy the unique 02 hour launch trip along the Kazinga Channel between Lakes George and Edward passes through possibly the highest hippo concentration in Africa and many mammals may be seen drinking at the water's edge. The cruise offers an excellent platform for photography and game viewing. It’s like a “Who’s who” of African bird life.
Day 3 {breakfast, lunch & dinner}
After an early breakfast, proceed for a game drive. Queen Elizabeth National Park's diverse Eco-system of grassy plains, tropical forest, rivers, swamps, lakes and volcanic craters is home to an incredible abundance of wildlife.) On game drives in this park, with the massive Ruwenzori as a backdrop, Elephant, Cape buffalo, Rothschild's giraffe, Uganda kob, hartebeest and waterbuck are commonly seen. You may also spot oribi, bushbuck, Bohor reedbuck, bush duiker, warthog and bushpig. Large carnivores include lion, leopard and spotted hyena. Evening forays with the sun setting over the blue mountains of Congo as a backdrop provides excellent opportunities to see lion, leopard, giant forest hog, Cape buffalo, elephants, hyena, defassa waterbuck, Uganda Kob, Topi and bush buck. The animals that can be seen are the best of what Uganda can offer and as many as 650 bird species may be found in the park....one the single largest concentration in the world.
Day 4 {breakfast & lunch}
We will visit Kyambura Gorge, formed by the turbulent waters of the roaring Kyambura River, provides a lush riverine forest, home to black-and-white colobus, red-tailed monkeys, olive baboons, giant forest hog and other primates as well as plenty of forest birds. A guided nature walk takes visitors into the gorge and offers a
great chance to track habituated chimps in their natural habitat. Return to Kampala.
