Birding Safari:
Uganda, being situated between the savannas and tropical rain forests with the added attraction of major rivers, lakes and mountains has tremendous bird life. This premier birding destination has about 1032 species, after Kenya, Tanzania and DRC which are far larger. In this, driving times are much shorter to see a much more variety of birds. Queen Elizabeth NP has the single largest concentration of bird species in the world. Tendo Tours bird guides will provide detailed explanations, not only about primates and animals, but also on all the forest flora and fauna and will ensure that our walk is both informative and enjoyable.
Primate safaris
Only in Uganda, Rwanda and DRC, can you see the mountain gorilla. Kibale Forest National Park is one of the best safari destinations in Africa for chimpanzee trekking. Kibale’s 795km2 National Park contains one of the most beautiful and with the most varying tracts of tropical forest in the whole of Uganda. This is place to a number of forest wildlife, most especially 13 species of primate coupled with chimpanzees. The density and diversity of primates in Kibale National Park is the highest in the whole of Africa. The most well known of its 13 species are the chimpanzees, our closest relative. Kibale’s 1450 chimpanzee indicate Uganda’s biggest population of this threatened primate. Additionally Kibale is home to the uncommon I’Hoest’s monkey as well as East Africa’s biggest population of the endangered red colobus monkey. The black & white colobus, red tailed monkey, blue monkey, olive baboon, grey cheeked mangabey, bush baby and potto are among the other primates.
